Whitesville, or "Bob" as we called him affectionately, was an attractive, correct, and kind 1991 Jockey Club registered Thoroughbred sporthorse stallion. He stood 16.2+hh, and was a lovely bay sabino. Whitesville had modest earnings in a short race career and he sired several wonderful sporthorse foals, mainly out of warmblood, draft, and draft-cross mares. He was proven time and again a prepotent sporthorse sire and he has a pedigree that is outstanding for sport, and an amazing temperment, excellent conformation, and flawless movement, despite his injury. A short video of him from his previous owner can be seen here:
Whitesville had only a modest race record, with just 13 starts, 1 win, 1 show, and 1 place for earnings of $5,252, but he is by WHITESBURG, who was by the influential sporthorse stallion, Crimson Satan. Whitesburg had 5 wins in 9 starts, earned $43,196, and was the winner of the Bashford Manor and Success Stakes. Whitesburg was a proven sire, however, with 20 crops, 417 foals, 338 starters, 27 black type winners, 269 winners, with earnings totaling $11,512,348. He was also an excellent broodmare sire, with 122 producing daughters of 530 foals and 36 black type winners, etc...
Whitesville is out of Dorothy Maud by Icecapade, who had 32 Starts and earnings of $256,468, and was the winner of the William Du Pont Jr. Handicap (G2), Nassau County Handicap (G3), Stuyvesant Handicap, Saranac Stakes, Kelso Handicap, Longport Handicap, Atlantic City Handicap. He sired 73 stakes winners, and stood at Gainesway Farm, Ky. Photos below courtesy Christy Tuescher.
